Land, language,
and living futures.

We support the cultural and community relationships that help land return become a lasting foundation for Indigenous life.

Connected work.
Lasting relationships.

Four ways we carry the work.

Land rematriation & regional connection

We connect communities, funders, and partners around community-led land return. Our role includes relationship building, shared learning, and helping communities navigate the resources available to them. Kì:li, our regional mapping work, helps make Indigenous land relationships and rematriation efforts visible across the East.

Language, memory & education

Culture lives through practice: speaking, growing, making, remembering, and teaching. At Kihkǫspé:hla, we support cultural research, community access to the Eastern Siouan Rare Books Library, and learning grounded in Yesàh homelands.

Foodways & climate knowledge

Traditional foodways and ecological knowledge carry practical answers to a changing climate. We connect people working with seeds, forests, waters, and land-based livelihoods so that knowledge can be shared in context.

Gatherings & collective care

Our gatherings create room for Native women, knowledge holders, and community members to share food, strengthen relationships, and shape what comes next. Further seasonal knowledge exchanges and at-home cultural learning for young children and families are in development.

Connected work, distinct roles.

Indigenous East carries regional relationships, culture, education, and gatherings. NDPonics carries land stewardship, conservation, restoration, and corridor work. At Kihkǫspé:hla, these relationships meet in a shared place for practical learning.
